Red Coral Radish – Description & Growing Guide

Description:
Red Coral Radish (Raphanus sativus) is a fast-growing, bright red radish variety with a crisp texture and mildly spicy flavour. The round roots typically reach 3–5 cm in diameter, with tender white flesh. This variety is perfect for fresh salads, pickling, or garnishing. It matures quickly and thrives in cool weather, making it an excellent choice for successive planting.

Growing Guide:

Soil: Prefers loose, well-drained soil rich in organic matter with a pH of 6.0–7.0.

Sunlight: Requires full sun but tolerates partial shade.

Planting: Sow seeds directly 1 cm deep and 2–3 cm apart in rows, thinning to 5 cm once seedlings emerge. Best planted in early spring or autumn.

Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but avoid waterlogging.

Fertilization: Generally, not needed if soil is fertile, but a light application of compost can boost growth. Avoid excessive nitrogen.

Harvesting: Ready in 20–30 days. Harvest when roots are firm and about 3–5 cm in diameter for best texture and flavour.

This variety is ideal for quick harvests and can be grown in containers or garden beds. Let me know if you need additional growing tips!
