Sowing Steps
Fill tray with moist growing medium to about 3–4 cm deep.
Scatter seeds evenly and densely across the surface — no need to space them out.
Press seeds lightly into the soil for good contact. You can cover with a fine layer of vermiculite or leave exposed.
Mist thoroughly using a spray bottle.
Cover the tray with a lid or another tray for 2–3 days (blackout period) to help germination.
After sprouting, remove the cover and place under bright indirect light or grow lights.
Light Requirements
Needs 12–16 hours of bright light daily.
Avoid direct harsh sun to prevent drying out.
Watering
Mist once or twice a day to keep soil surface moist.
Alternatively, use bottom-watering by placing the tray in a shallow water tray for a few minutes.
Harvesting
Ready in 7–12 days once the microgreens are 5–8 cm tall and have developed their first true leaves.
Harvest by snipping just above the soil with clean scissors.
Gently rinse and use fresh. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for 3–5 days.
How to Use
Sprinkle on salads, sandwiches, wraps, omelettes, or soups.
Excellent in smoothies for a nutrient boost.
Adds both colour and crunch to any dish.
