Pansy 'Frizzle Sizzle Mix' is a stunning variety of pansies known for its unique ruffled petals and vibrant, two-tone colors. This mix creates an eye-catching display in gardens and containers with its combination of bold and pastel shades. With their whimsical, ruffled petals and cheerful colours, these add charm and elegance to any garden space! The flowers are frilly with a distinctive texture. Each flower often has contrasting "faces" or markings in deep purples, blues, yellows, whites, and pinks.  Compact, bright green leaves that form a neat base for the blooms. Growing low and bushy, it makes an ideal for borders, containers, and window boxes.  It typically grows 15-20 cm tall and 20-25 cm wide. Long-lasting blooms, even in cool weather with many flowers with a sweet, subtle scent, thriving in cooler climates and can survive light frosts.

Planting Location

Full sun to partial shade. Full sun encourages more blooms, but partial shade can help in hotter climates.

Prefers rich, well-draining soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.0).

Sow seeds in early spring or fall. In mild climates, pansies bloom year-round.

Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water at the base of the plant to prevent fungal issues on the leaves.

Fertilizing

Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer at planting. For continuous blooms, feed with a diluted liquid fertilizer every 2-4 weeks.

Pruning and Maintenance

Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage new flowers and prevent the plant from going to seed.

Remove yellowing or damaged leaves to keep plants healthy.

Pests and Diseases

Aphids and slugs. Treat aphids with insecticidal soap and use slug traps or barriers as needed.

Powdery mildew and root rot. Ensure good airflow and avoid overwatering to prevent these issues.

Uses

Perfect for garden borders, edging, hanging baskets, or patio containers.

Great for mass planting to create colourful bedding displays.

Tips for Success

Mulch around plants to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

If planting in spring, choose a cool location, as pansies may struggle in hot summer weather.

In colder regions, cover with mulch or a frost cloth to protect plants from harsh freezes.
